People really seem to love the "The Conjuring" universe.  "The Nun" was able to scare up $53.5 million to debut at first, making back its budget more than two times over.  "Crazy Rich Asians" continues to do well, dropping one to second with $13.6 million ($136.2 million overall).

There's a new Lois Lane on the block. Elizabeth Tulloch of "Grimm" will play the fiesty reporter on the next season of "Supergirl", debuting on the upcoming crossover event.

And in more Superman news, the still relatively young looking Dean Can says he would like to put on the tights again as the Man of Steel. George Reaves was an older actor when he made the role his and Dean is better preserved for his age than George was. I personally would go see it if that happens and I have hated pretty much every DC movie since the Dark Knight trilogy. Didn't even like Wonder Woman that much as they screwed with the Wonder Woman I knew! Wonder Woman I know is NOT the daughter of Zeus and showed up in WWII NOT WW1! And Gal, while pretty, is nowhere near physically right and was obviously pregnant in the early part of the film. Both of those should have disqualified her from being in it to begin with!

Is it possible I could catch TRL for 9th?

As soon as I saw a picture of Gal, I knew it was going to be bad, not as bad as casting Jessica Alba then Michael B Jordan in the Fantastic 4, but bad none the less

You have to wonder if the controversy of casting a registered sex offender in the movie had an effect on the champ, which I assume it did.  "The Predator" debuted at first but only with $24 million.  "The Nun" had a huge drop-off in its gross as it dipped one spot to second with $18.2 million ($85.1 million overall).

It might have, but I don't think it hurt that much. As well-regarded as the original Predator is, and as legendary as the character (species?) has become, the franchise just isn't that popular. $24 million is right where Predators opened 8 years ago, and dumping it in the middle of September wasn't going to help its box office chances either.

Totally worth it. Season 1 was absolutely delightful, being both a glorious nostalgic callback to the original series and being BETTER than it in just about every single way. Woo-Hoo!!
Is it Dec 2019 yet? (GAH SO FAR AWAY!)
