Oh, I was just writing about that too!
A pity, but at least she lived a long and prolific life.  :)

Country singer Lari White (Cannon) has died at age 52 after a short battle with cancer. I think I only knew her a little from the Tom Hanks movie Castaway! Deep sympathy for her family and friends. RIP Lari!

Addison Morton 'Mort' Walker, creator of Beetle Bailey, has died at age 94! Despite the stereotypes portrayed of Army amalgams he knew the strip was very popular with military and civilians alike! RIP Mort!

Beat me to it.  Rumor has it he tried cutting his wrists a month and a half before last month's plea.  I would be sad, but I can't be when you've been convicted of possessing child pornography.

John Mahoney, who was best known as Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce's irascible dad Martin Crane on Frasier, has died. He was 77.

A former Midwestern medical-magazine editor who quit his day job at nearly 40 to study acting in Chicago, Mahoney had taught English at Western Illinois University in the early 1970s.

He became a fixture at Chicago's fabled Steppenwolf Theater and soon ventured to the New York stage. He distinguished himself in an off-Broadway production of Orphans, for which he received a Theatre World Award.

Mahoney won a Tony Award in 1986 for his performance in a revival of John Guare's The House of Blue Leaves. The production was videotaped for PBS' Theatre in America series.
In 2007, he was back on Broadway in a revival of Prelude to a Kiss.

In movies, Mahoney garnered recognition in Barry Levinson's Tin Men (1987), playing Richard Dreyfuss' business partner. The same year, he was memorable in Moonstruck as a depressed college professor who regularly had affairs with his students.

His other film credits include a performance as a trial judge in Suspect (1987), the manager of the White Sox in Eight Men Out (1988) and a protective father beleaguered by John Cusack's interest in his daughter in Say Anything (1989).

John Gavin, who reached the pinnacle of his acting career with roles in Douglas Sirk’s “Imitation of Life,” Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” and the epic “Spartacus,” later serving as president of the Screen Actors Guild in the early ’70s and as U.S. ambassador to Mexico under Ronald Reagan, died Friday morning in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was 86.

Revered composer Jóhann Jóhannsson was found dead on Friday in his Berlin apartment at the age of 44.  The cause of death is still unknown.  Perhaps his best work was composing the James Marsh-directed Stephen Hawking biopic "The Theory of Everything", which won him the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, as well as Oscar, BAFTA and Grammy nominations.  Jóhannsson and Marsh reunited for the film "The Mercy", which was released in the United Kingdom this weekend.  A frequent collaborator of director Denis Villeneuve, Jóhannsson also composed the scores to Villeneuve's critically acclaimed hit films "Prisoners", "Sicario" (Oscar nomination) and "Arrival" (Golden Globe, BAFTA and Grammy nominations).  Jóhannsson started scoring films in his native Iceland in 2000 and his most recent work, the Gareth Davis-directed and Rooney Mara-starring "Mary Magdalene", is scheduled for a posthumous release in the United Kingdom in March.  Aside from film, Jóhannsson also released several solo albums from 2002-2016 and also had a string quartet, electronics and vocal ensemble piece featured at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2015.

A little reluctant to post as he was sometimes considered a political or controversial person, but because he was important I will. Billy Graham has died at age 99. In declining health for several years, the Iconic minister is remembered by many. RIP.

However political you think he was, Billy Graham did meet with and counsel every president starting with Harry Truman in 1950
