I want him to succeed, but this is twisting the knife.  The Diamondbacks' J. D. Martinez hit his fourth home run of the game in the ninth inning against the Dodgers with six RBI.  Updates to come.

And the Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers, 13-0.

Baby I've had the same dream
Where I wake up
Wondering what it really means
If the world came running down
If it was
You and me against the world
Baby they cut us under but we'll take whatever we want
If it was
You and me against the world

The Indians are wowing by setting a franchise record 15-game winning streak with a big victory over the White Sox.

I'm even kind of rooting for them and everyone knows I'm a die hard Cardinals fan. While there isn't a specific curse I believe the Indians are the team with the longest drought in World Championships. All the other curses have fallen, isn't it time for the tribe?

Lions might argue, the one team of the classic old NFL to never reach a Super Bowl.

In the Lions case, I've always heard it was cheapness of owners who pinched pennies so hard you could hear Lincoln scream! :) Never willing to pay good players in their prime, if they get someone he's probably 4 years past his prime. They also are lousy with their draft picks. Ending up so close to bottom every year their draft picks should be top 5s and they should have an all star team! Instead, even with their picks, are traded or can't make the transision, or. not anywhere as good as their pick. And yes, the city has lost a lot of people and revenue, but other teams just as small have rings. I would have to go owners and management!

Further thoughts, they get a good Quarterback they won't buy a line that can protect him, they get a good running back, they won't buy a line that can block, they get defense players they have no offense. The one thing, like them or not, that can be said of New England is that it's not that their players are better it's that they're not weak anywhere. And in no way am I trying to knock the Lions players! They give it their all! It's the armchair suits!

And a historic note as the Indians won their 21st straight which is now an American League record.

To put this in perspective: The Indians have won more games in the last three weeks than the Browns have in the last five years.

Consider me bitter the Tigers couldn't do this on Tuesday or Wednesday.  The Indians' AL-record 22-game winning streak was snapped with a 4-3 loss to the Royals.

If this holds, it'll be a terrific silver lining for an otherwise lackluster season.  The Tigers' Matthew Boyd has a no-hitter through eight innings against the White Sox.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  So close, but I think this still deserves a "Yeah, Boyd!"  Boyd lost a no-hitter with two outs in the ninth on the White Sox's Tim Anderson's double.  This comes as the Tigers beat the White Sox, 12-0.

The Minnesota Twins are in the playoffs!

Just one year after losing a franchise record 103 games last season, they clinched a playoff berth (the first since 2010, where they won the AL Central Division title) with an Angel's loss on Wednesday night.

They are the first team in MLB history to go from 100 losses the previous year, to a playoff appearance the next.

I'd love to give them credit, but there are literally five teams over .500 in the AL. Good on them for being slightly less mediocre than the rest of the league, but lets be real, the AL was a river of shit this year.

My teams out so I don't care who wins. And since all the curses are gone there's not even that! Closest might be Indians, no clue where they are now, but there was no specific curse.

It's go time for the playoffs.  The Yankees will host the Twins in the AL wild card with the winner advancing to the ALDS.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  That was an impressive bounce back from a rough start to the game.  The Yankees defeated the Twins, 8-4, in the AL Wild Card Game.  The Yankees will face the Indians in the ALDS beginning on Thursday in Cleveland.

Go Twins! No particular hatred of the Yankees except they are 'Roid head cheaters! And their owners always try to buy a title by trying to hire the All Stars of the previous year.
