Oh, this will not be a happy reunion.  Kevin Durant will make his long-awaited return to Oklahoma City when the Warriors face Russell Westbrook and the Thunder.  Who will win in Loud City?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  We can't be surprised here.  Durant was greeted with an overwhelming chorus of boos as he was introduced in his first game back in Oklahoma City.

UPDATE 2:  'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood.  Durant and Westbrook exchanged heated words at midcourt.  Westbrook shouted, "I'm coming."

UPDATE 3:  There was no payback tonight.  Durant scored 34 points in his return to Oklahoma City as the Warriors beat the Thunder, 130-114.  Westbrook had 47 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Baby I've had the same dream
Where I wake up
Wondering what it really means
If the world came running down
If it was
You and me against the world
Baby they cut us under but we'll take whatever we want
If it was
You and me against the world

See, peace is possible.  The Western Conference All-Stars' Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook reunited for an All-Star Game alley-oop as Reggie Miller sang "Kumbaya".  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  If you love offense, you had to love this game.  The Western Conference All-Stars defeated the Eastern Conference All-Stars, 192-182, behind NBA All-Star Game MVP Anthony Davis' record 52 points.  Westbrook had 41 points and Durant had a triple-double.

UPDATE 2:  At least playing in the All-Star Game means not having to leave town after this deal.  The Kings traded DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelicans for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway and future first- and second-round draft picks.

I wonder if this spring cleaning will lead to family drama.  The Lakers named Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner and Los Angeles Sparks co-owner Magic Johnson as their president of basketball operations.  General manager Mitch Kupchak and executive vice president of basketball operations Jim Buss, who is still a co-owner, were relieved of their duties.

I have the feeling this might involve a call from the commissioner's office.  The Warriors' Draymond Green came close to kicking the Clippers' Blake Griffin in the head while fighting for a loose ball in a 123-113 Warriors win.

I still won't call him a bust yet but this doesn't bode well.  The 76ers announced small forward and No. 1 pick Ben Simmons will not play this season because his injured foot does not have "full healing".

Or they have nothing to gain by him playing and maybe them winning a couple extra games, so they're shutting him down completely. At least let him get hurt and miss a second season before even beginning to throw "bust" around like that. I mean, missing a year didn't hinder Blake Griffin much. And Joel Embiid is looking pretty good after missing a couple years.

Jerry Krause, the Chicago Bulls GM who built them into the dynasty of the 1990s (and, let's be frank, also helped destroy it) has died at 77.

If you can believe it, Russell Westbrook is now the triple-double king, passing Oscar Robertson with his record 42nd triple-double this season.  On top of that, Westbrook also hit the game-winner at the buzzer to lift the Thunder to a 106-105 win over the Nuggets.

We're all set and ready to go in the NBA Playoffs.  Here's how the first round will play out.  In the East, the Celtics will face the Bulls beginning on Sunday in Boston, the Cavaliers will face the Central rival Pacers beginning on Saturday in Cleveland, the Raptors will face the Bucks beginning on Saturday in Toronto and the Wizards will face the Southeast rival Hawks beginning on Sunday in Washington.  In the West, the Warriors will face the Trail Blazers beginning on Sunday in Oakland, Calif.; the Spurs will face the Southwest rival Grizzlies beginning on Saturday in San Antonio; the Rockets will face the Thunder beginning on Sunday in Houston; and the Clippers will face the Jazz beginning on Saturday in Los Angeles.

This may have been one of the most competitive four-game sweeps I've seen.  Nevertheless, the Cavaliers defeated the Pacers, 105-102, to put a lock on the series, 4-0.

Just remember, Detroit played Cleveland pretty competitively in a first round sweep last year, so that doesn't necessarily mean that the Cavs are vulnerable. Largely because the rest of the East is such a shit heap, they should be able to sleepwalk their way into the Finals regardless.

Believe me, I remember that series.  I am legitimately surprised the Pistons didn't extend the series to at least five games.  As for this year, the Cavaliers should have an easy path to the NBA Finals, but sleepwalking is not an option considering the Celtics and Raptors have finally showed in their last two games that they have the potential to knock off the champs.

Unlike the Cavaliers, this series went pretty easily.  The Warriors blew out the Trail Blazers, 128-103, to sweep the series, 4-0.

The world finally caught up to Russ.  The Rockets grounded the Thunder, 105-99, winning the series, 4-1.

We have a couple more completed series the NBA Playoffs.  The Raptors clipped the Bucks, 92-89, to win the series, 4-2, as well as set up an Eastern Conference Semifinals match-up with the Cavaliers beginning on Monday in Cleveland.  Meanwhile, the Spurs defeated Grizzlies, 103-96, capturing the series, 4-2, but they are now stuck playing their second divisional foe in a row, starting a series with the Southwest rival Rockets on Monday in San Antonio.
