Washington fans are going to love this news.  No. 4 Texas A&M was upset by Mississippi State, 35-28.  The Bulldogs' Nick Fitzgerald passed for two touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns.

Let's talk about the other big vote today.  Who will move into the top four?  The College Football Playoff selection committee will release its new rankings.  Which team will slide into the picture?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  At least there shouldn't be too much whining about this week's results.  Washington is the new No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings and the top three remain Alabama, Clemson and Michigan.  Ohio State is fifth and Louisville is sixth.

I can actually feel the shift in the playoff picture.  Pittsburgh handed No. 2 Clemson its first loss of the season in a 43-42 upset.  The Panthers' Chris Blewitt nailed a 48-yard field goal with six seconds left.

I won't lie, I feel like I'm sitting on pins and needles.  No. 3 Michigan trails Iowa, 11-10, at the start of the fourth quarter at Kinnick Stadium.  Will the Wolverines come back?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  What a thriller tonight in Iowa City!  Iowa ended Michigan's undefeated season in a 14-13 upset on Keith Duncan's 33-yard field goal as time expired.

The playoff shift is growing more and more.  No. 20 USC knocked off No. 4 Washington in a 26-13 upset.  The Trojans' Sam Darnold had 287 yards and two touchdowns and Adoree' Jackson had two interceptions.

It's time to sort through the madness.  Who's in the top four after Saturday's chaos?  The College Football Playoff selection committee is going to release their new rankings.  Who's in and who's out?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  I didn't see this coming but I sort of like it.  Ohio State is No. 2, Michigan is No. 3 and Clemson is No. 4 in a College Football Playoff shakeup.  Alabama is first, Louisville is fifth and Washington is sixth.

It looks like somebody's playoff hopes are about to be dashed.  No. 5 Louisville trails Houston, 31-10, with 14:51 left in the fourth quarter.  Is this over or will we see a miracle?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  The dream is dead.  Houston knocked off Louisville in a 36-10 upset.  The Cardinals' Lamar Jackson had 211 passing yards, a touchdown and 33 rushing yards.

E-C-DUB!  No. 16 LSU's Leonard Fournette shoved the No. 23 Florida defensive backs coach twice during a heated pregame scuffle and police jumped in.  Updates to come.

And Florida upset LSU, 16-10.

Well, that sure was exciting.  Oregon's Darren Carrington II tip-toed the sideline for a touchdown catch in the final seconds to knock off No. 12 Utah in a 30-28 upset.

One team's misfortune is another's good fortune.  Who will move into the top six after Louisville's upset?  The College Football Playoff selection committee will release their new rankings.  Who will move on up?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  The brackets don't look that different, but this weekend will be huge.  Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson kept the top four spots in the College Football Playoff rankings.  Washington is the new No. 5 and Wisconsin is No. 6.

The hottest name in college football is about to head a little further east along the Gulf.  According to a news site, LSU could have a deal in place with Houston head coach Tom Herman as early as Saturday.  Updates to come.

And LSU beat Texas A&M, 54-39.

I really hope this means Texas has to go back and tell Charlie Strong they're sorry, and then fire him next year after another 6 win season. But they'll probably throw a ton of money at Chip Kelly to get him out of that hellhole in Santa Clara, and see if that offense can still work in college when it's not remotely special any more because everyone runs at least portions of it now.

I'm fully expecting Texas to pull the trigger at any second.  According to The Advocate, LSU named interim head coach Ed Orgeron as the permanent head coach.  He is 5-2 this season.

Somebody better pick up that phone because I called it.  Texas fired head coach Charlie Strong, who went 16-21 in three seasons at the school, including 5-7 this season.  This comes as the Longhorns lost to TCU, 31-9.

UPDATE:  Well, that vacancy filled quickly.  According to Heather Dinich, Texas will hire Tom Herman as its next head coach.  He has a 22-4 in two seasons at the same job at No. 20 Houston.  This comes as the Cougars were upset by Memphis, 48-44.

In my opinion, it's the best rivalry in sports.  No. 2 Ohio State is hosting fierce rival No. 3 Michigan in a game with massive College Football Playoff implications.  Who will move closer to the title?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  SHIT!  Ohio State's Malik Hooker picked off a pass and returned it for a 16-yard touchdown to take a 7-3 lead on Michigan.

UPDATE 2:  This game has been pretty exciting so far.  Michigan scored with six seconds left to take a 10-7 halftime lead on Ohio State.  Will the Wolverines maintain this lead?

UPDATE 3:  Dial 9, 1 and wait for me to tell you to dial the other 1.  Michigan leads Ohio State, 17-14, entering the fourth quarter.  Can the Wolverines win and can I not have a heart attack?

UPDATE 4:  Oh, that was a weak penalty.  Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after spiking his headset.  Can the Wolverines hold on to the lead?

UPDATE 5:  Thank God!  Ohio State missed a 20-yard field goal and trails Michigan, 17-14, with 5:36 left.  Can the Wolverines close the door?

UPDATE 6:  For the first time ever, The Game will have bonus football.  Ohio State hit a 23-yard field goal with one second left to force overtime against Michigan.  Who will walk away happy?

UPDATE 7:  Who wants some more?  Ohio State and Michigan are headed to a second overtime tied, 24-24.  Who will be the one to break the stalemate?

UPDATE 8:  What a thriller today in Columbus!  Ohio State defeated Michigan, 30-27, on Curtis Samuel's untouched 15-yard touchdown run in the second overtime.

UPDATE 9:  Oh, way to twist the knife in deeper.  Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer took a phone call from his wife during the press conference, saying, "She said bring home a gallon of milk."
