Somebody is going to get into the inside track for the playoff chase.  No. 3 Louisville and Lamar Jackson, who has 25 touchdowns this season, are facing No. 5 Clemson and Deshaun Watson.  Who will gain momentum?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  It's going down to the wire.  Louisville scored 16 straight points and trails Clemson, 28-26, to start the fourth quarter.  Who's going pull forward?

UPDATE 2:  That was quite the dogfight.  Clemson upset Louisville, 42-36.  Watson had five passing touchdowns.  Jackson had 457 total yards and three touchdowns.

The Group of 5's chances at the playoffs took a huge hit.  Navy handed No. 6 Houston their first loss of the season in a 46-40 upset.  It was the Midshipmen's first win over an AP top-10 team since 1984.  On "College GameDay" this morning, Lee Corso said the Midshipmen would upset the heavily-favored Cougars and he nailed it.

Wow, that was as good a game as the hype built it up to be.  No. 8 Texas A&M defeated No. 9 Tennessee, 45-38, in double overtime.  The Volunteers nearly grabbed another improbable win after a wild finish to regulation.

The most dedicated fanbase in college has to go to NC State. 60,000 people stood in a literal HURRICANE to watch the Wolfpack beat Notre Dame in a nasty, wet, ugly 10-3 battle.

Stanford probably does not want to see "Washington" on a jersey again any time soon.

This might complicate the playoff chase.  No. 3 Clemson is tied with NC State, 17-17, with 11:29 left in the fourth quarter.  Who's going to take the victory?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  How many lives do these cats have?  Clemson picked off a pass in overtime to escape, 24-17, against NC State.  The Tigers' Deshaun Watson accounted for 413 yards and three touchdowns.

The moment NC State missed the field goal as time expired, I knew they were done. Massive underdogs tend not to fare well in overtime to begin with, but that kind of thing can just suck the air out of a team that worked so hard to get into range only to have the kicker botch what should have been a gimme (I believe it was like a 33 yarder with the ball in the middle of the field and he pushed it right, just a brutal kick with the chance to knock off the #3 team in the country).

Let's get some extra football going.  No. 2 Ohio State and No. 8 Wisconsin are tied, 23-23, at the start of overtime.  Which powerhouse will walk away with an important W?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  Well, that was exciting, wasn't it?  Ohio State stuffed Wisconsin on a fourth-down sack to win, 30-23, in overtime.  The Buckeyes' J. T. Barrett had 318 total yards and three touchdowns.

Holy tits, that was awesome.  Northwestern's Kyle Queiro did his best New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. imitation on a ridiculous one-handed interception.  The Wildcats beat Indiana, 24-14.

I'm pretty sure the human body isn't supposed to do that.  No. 12 West Virginia's Jovon Durante contorted his body for a ridiculous fingertip grab in front of two defenders.  Updates to come.

And West Virginia beat TCU, 34-10.

Is David about to defeat Goliath?  Penn State leads No. 2 Ohio State, 24-21, with 4:27 left in the fourth quarter.  Are the fans in Happy Valley going to leave happy?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  The playoff chase just got a hell of a lot more interesting.  Penn State upset Ohio State, 24-21.  It was Urban Meyer's first road loss as the Buckeyes' head coach after he had won the past 20.

I hope you didn't bet on this game.  Virginia got a two-point conversion and took a 25-24 lead on No. 5 Louisville with 1:47 left.  Will the Cavaliers get the upset?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  Take a breath, Cardinals fans.  Lamar Jackson threw a 29-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds left to lift Louisville over Virginia, 32-25.

Get on your horse, young man!  Dalvin Cook sprinted away for a 70-yard touchdown as No. 12 Florida State built a 28-20 lead over No. 3 Clemson.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  It's the final countdown.  Clemson is clinging to a 37-34 lead on the road against Florida State with 2:06 left.  Will Clemson keep its unbeaten record in tact?

UPDATE 2:  Is everybody still alive after that game?  Clemson beat Florida State, 37-34.  The Tigers' Deshaun Watson had 378 yards and two touchdowns and Cook had 169 yards and four touchdowns.

The end of the season is upon us and you know what that means.  The College Football Playoff selection committee is going to release its first rankings of the 2016 season.  Who'll be a part of the first Top 4?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  This isn't exactly how I expected things to look, but there's still plenty of season to be played.  Alabama topped the initial CFP rankings followed by Clemson, Michigan and Texas A&M.  Washington is fifth and Ohio State is sixth.

It's way too early to be too worried about the Playoff. As long as the four unbeatens keep winning, they'll get in. That said, if Washington wins out and gets left off for A&M or Louisville or Ohio State (especially since Ohio State would have two losses if Michigan wins out), there will be rioting. Mainly by me, but still...
