That was a fun way to start the season.  The Broncos used a fourth-quarter rally for a 21-20 win over the Panthers.  The Panthers' Graham Gano missed a 50-yard field goal with four seconds left.

Wondering what it really means
If the world came running down
If it was
You and me against the world
Baby they cut us under but we'll take whatever we want
If it was
You and me against the world

Good news/bad news for Vikings fans: They welcomed their new stadium by beating the Packers 17-14. However, Adrian Peterson suffered a knee injury that can hurt them later.

Adrian Peterson has suffered a torn right meniscus.

While no official timetable has been given for his return, it's AP. He'll be back on the field in 3-4 weeks. And as a Vikings fan, this couldn't be better news after the way he came off the field last night.

It's all them steroids. Same for the stick-to-testicles-punishment thing.

You called it, Biggs.  According to Josina Anderson, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is going to have surgery on Thursday on his torn meniscus.  He could be out 3-4 weeks.

UPDATE:  Looks like there was a lapse in communication because the story has changed and it has gotten worse.  Peterson told Anderson that he has a "bucket handle tear" of his meniscus.  He is out 3-4 months.

You might want to dump Houston's defense from your fantasy team.  According to a news site, Pro Bowl Texans defensive end J. J. Watt is expected to miss an extended period of time after reinjuring his back.

If you had J-Squared on your fantasy team, you chose wisely.  The Falcons' Julio Jones recorded the sixth 300-yard receiving game in NFL history in a 48-33 win over the Panthers.

Not a good sign that the defending NFC champions with last year's MVP have the same record as the Bears and the Jags.

And looks like moving to LA was a good move for the Rams, now 3-1.

Eh, there isn't that much shame in losing to the Broncos, Vikings, and Falcons (well, Denver and Minnesota, anyway). What should be scary for the Panthers though is giving up 48 points to Atlanta and letting Julio Jones basically single-handedly bend you over and fuck you, without even bothering to lube up first. Plus, now people seem to actually be paying attention to whether Cam Newton gets hit in the hit repeatedly, so the Panthers kinda have to pay attention as well.

He's baaaaaaaack!  The Patriots' Tom Brady threw his first touchdown of the season, finding Martellus Bennett for a seven-yard score against the Browns.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  Tom Terrific hasn't lost a step.  Brady completed 18-of-25 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns in the first half as the Patriots built a 23-7 lead on the road against the Browns.

UPDATE 2:  Coming back never looked so easy.  Brady threw for 406 yards and three touchdowns in his season debut, a 33-13 Patriots victory over the winless Browns.

Five weeks in and the Panthers have won as many games as they lost last season. Yep, I'd say time to panic.

This season's living lightning rod is finally coming in.  49ers head coach Chip Kelly announced that he named quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the starter for Sunday's game against the Bills in Buffalo, N.Y.

You know how Bears fans have ranted for years that without Jay Cutler, the team would be so much better? After seeing them give up 17 points in the fourth quarter to the Jaguars, maaaaaaaybe time to rethink that.
