Something has to break, but the immovable object and unstoppable force are at a stalemate.  The Spurs, who are on 43-game home win streak, are tied with the Warriors, 65-65, at the start of the fourth quarter.  Who will blink first?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  The streak is alive.  The Spurs, who are 59-10, defeated the Warriors, who are 62-7, 87-79, to extend their home win streak to 44 games.  The Warriors had their lowest point total of the season.

"I'm shocked," said nobody ever.  According to Jeff Goodman, LSU Tigers freshman forward Ben Simmons will hire an agent and enter the NBA Draft.  He had 19.2 PPG and 11.8 RPG.

We might have trouble by the Bay.  The Warriors, who have a 54-game home win streak, trail the Celtics, 95-85, with 7:20 left in the fourth quarter.  Will the champs rally?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  It's all over now.  The Celtics defeated the Warriors, 109-106, snapping the NBA record 54-game home win streak.  It was the Warriors' first home loss since Jan. 27, 2015.

Sam Hinkie has stepped down as GM of the 76ers. Maybe now they'll start to win. Though I think it'd be funny if Okafor, whoever they draft this year, and maybe whoever they get with the Lakers pick they're owed, turn the team into a juggernaut in a couple years and everyone starts pulling muscles trying to ignore how those players were acquired.
Welcome to my breakdown.
I hope I didn't scare you.
That's just the way we are when we come down.
We sweat and laugh and scream here.
'Cause life is just a dream here.
You know inside you feel right at home, here.
Yeah, Welcome to my nightmare yeah, hey, hey, hey...

History just keeps getting made by this team.  The Warriors, who are 70-9, defeated the Spurs, 112-101, joining the 1995-96 Bulls, who were 72-10, as the only teams in NBA history to reach 70 wins.  In case you're wondering, the current Bulls lost to the Heat, 106-98.

The record is still within reach.  The Warriors are visiting the Grizzlies in Memphis, Tenn., looking to become the second team in NBA history to win 71 games.  Will they seal the deal?  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  The chances of breaking the record are slipping.  The Warriors, who are 70-9, trail the Grizzlies, 78-70, at the start of the fourth quarter as the Warriors' Stephen Curry has 14 points.  Can the champs rally?

UPDATE 2:  The chase for history is still on.  The Warriors, who are 71-9, erased a double-digit deficit, defeating the Grizzlies, 100-99.  The Warriors need two wins to set the all-time NBA record.

One historical marker is still in reach, but another is dead.  The Warriors, who are 72-9, tied the 1995-96 Bulls for the most wins in an NBA season, snapping the Spurs' 48-game home win streak, 92-86.

There is a lot of big basketball going on tonight to close out the regular season.  The Warriors, who are 72-9, look to break the record for most wins in a season against the Grizzlies in Oakland, Calif.  The Lakers' Kobe Bryant will play his final game against the Jazz in Los Angeles.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  History is pretty much a forgone conclusion by now.  The Warriors lead the Grizzlies, 102-81, at the start of the fourth quarter.  The Warriors' Stephen Curry has 46 points.

UPDATE 2:  What a way to cap a brilliant career.  Bryant has 56 points with 59 seconds left in his final career game.

UPDATE 3:  The history books have been rewritten.  The Warriors, who were 73-9, broke the 1995-96 Bulls' NBA record for the most wins in a season.  Curry had 46 points in a 125-104 win over the Grizzlies.  The Warriors will open the playoffs against the Rockets, who beat the Kings, 116-81, on Saturday in Oakland, Calif.  The Grizzlies will open the playoffs against the Southwest rival Spurs on Sunday in San Antonio.  In case you're wondering, the modern-day Bulls beat the 76ers, 115-105.

UPDATE 4:  Take one last bow because you earned it.  Bryant scored 60 points in an epic final game, receiving a royal send off from the crowd at Staples Center in Los Angeles.  This comes as the Lakers beat the Jazz, 101-96.

This might be Houston's best chance to... Ah, who am I kidding?  The Warriors' Stephen Curry will not play tonight against the Rockets in Game 2 of the NBA first-round playoff series at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., due to an ankle injury.  Updates to come.

And the Warriors beat the Rockets, 115-106.

Anxious days are ahead by the Bay.  The Warriors' Stephen Curry will not return to Game 4 against the Rockets due to a right knee sprain after slipping in the first half.  Updates to come.

And the Warriors beat the Rockets, 121-94.

I won't say the champs brought their star player back too early, but they are now in a shit load of trouble.  Warriors point guard Stephen Curry's MRI revealed a Grade 1 sprain to his right knee and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

This is totally stupid. He hurt his ankle, sat out a couple games, then slipped on some fucking moisture and sprained his knee. Unless you're arguing that his gimpy ankle is directly responsible for the knee injury, then it would've/could've happened no matter how long they kept him out and you can't say "well they shoulda held him out" because something completely unforeseeable happened.

Oops, Kevin Love separated his shoulder, why didn't they hold him out of that game? Tom Brady tore up his knee, why did the Patriots let him play? Buster Posey got trucked at the plate, why was he even on the field?

I was not saying the Warriors are to blame.  It was a freak accident that could have happened to any player.  If they thought Curry was ready to come back, I won't doubt them.

The Clip Show of the 2016 playoffs now looks like the Clip Show that used to be the butt of every joke.  Clippers power forward Blake Griffin is going to miss the rest of the playoffs due to a quad injury.  Point guard Chris Paul is out indefinitely due to a broken hand.
