What will he have to say?  Lakers small forward Kobe Bryant is going to be on "Mike & Mike" to discuss his retirement.  What can be drawn from this conversation?  Updates to come.

One of the interesting things I took was Bryant's opinion on the changing dynamic of how NBA players are more often than not friends off the court and how he said it won't affect gameplay.  Let's hope he's right.

There you go making my heart beat again
Heart beat again, heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in, right back in
And I know I'm never letting this go
I'm stuck on you

NBA players are more often than not friends off the court

That's not exactly new. I'm sure it happens more often now, and you can see it in terms of guys getting together and deciding to team up *cough*LeBron*cough*, but free agency and All-Star games and whatnot have always given players avenues to branch out and get to know other players. Toss in the new national team camps that let the best players hobnob, not to mention the AAU system that's created a network, where the top kids get to know pretty much every player within a couple years of them, and it's no surprise they're all friends (or at least acquaintances, because I'm not sure anyone is friends with Kobe).

As for it affecting gameplay, sometimes you want to beat your friends more than you do strangers (it's why in-state rivalry games, among players that often grew up in the sae area playing with/against each other are among the best college football games).

Loves Jesus and America too
She's a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
Loves horses and her boyfriend too

It's a long day livin' in Reseda
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard
And I'm a bad boy, 'cause I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin' her heart

I do have to agree.  There is definitely less hostility between players today than there was 20 or 30 years ago.  And you know what?  I think it works wonders for the game.

Remember this date for a minor miracle has occurred.  The Warriors, who are 24-1, lost their first game of the year to the Bucks, 108-95.  The Bucks snapped the second longest win streak in NBA history, which was 28 games.

Get ready for some world-class basketball.  LeBron James will lead the Cavaliers against Stephen Curry and the Warriors in a rematch of the 2015 NBA Finals in Oakland, Calif.  Who will prevail?  Updates to come.

And the Warriors beat the Cavaliers, 89-83.

And to think that the defending champs' current success was accomplished by an interim coach!  Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is going to return tonight against the Pacers at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.  He missed the first 43 games due to back surgery complications.  Updates to come.

And the Warriors beat the Pacers, 122-110.

Lemme guess, problems with The King?  According to Brian Windhorst and a news site, the Cavaliers fired head coach David Blatt.  He was 30-11 this season, finishing 83-40 overall.

UPDATE:  That sure was fast.  According to a news site, the Cavaliers promoted assistant coach Tyronn Lue to head coach and agreed with him on a multi-year deal.

I'm almost certain that somebody here is qualified for this job.  According to reports, the Knicks fired head coach Derek Fisher.  The Knicks lost nine of their last 10 games and are 23-31 on the season.  This comes as the Knicks lost to the Nuggets, 101-96.

The Dunk Contest is back!  Timberwolves point guard Zach LaVine repeated as champion after overcoming Magic power forward Aaron Gordon's one-of-a-kind slam in an epic NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

I heard his wife rewards him with sex after great performances, so tonight should be special.  Stephen Curry scored 51 points, including an acrobatic layup, that had him flexing his muscles in the Warriors' latest win, 130-114 over the Magic.

The league's best team definitely has a taste for the dramatics.  The Warriors' Stephen Curry hit a 32-foot three-pointer, his 12th of the game, with 0.6 seconds left in overtime to beat the Thunder, 121-118.

The best pat of that shot was the Thunder player #11, throw his hands up in disgust as soon as the shot left Curry's hands

What won't this team pull off?  The Warriors set an NBA record with their 45th straight regular-season home win, defeating the Magic, 119-113.  The Warriors' Stephen Curry had 41 points.
