2015-16 NBA News and Notes
« on: October 01, 2015, 11:15:38 pm »
Time to tip it up.  The exhibition season starts tonight in Los Angeles.  You know the drill.  If you have regarding the Association or have an opinion you want to state, post it here.
There you go making my heart beat again
Heart beat again, heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in
Right back in, right back in
And I know I'm never letting this go
I'm stuck on you
Whoa-oh, whoa-oh

My opinion is... that I will get great seats for the 76ers games this season... advantage of having a team that wins few games  ;D
Moving on but still doing what I'm doing

The Dream Team will have a new leader.  Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is going to succeed Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski as the head coach of the USA men's basketball team after the 2016 Olympics.

I really hate that this news has to be reported.  Timberwolves head coach and president of basketball operations Flip Saunders died at the age of 60 after battling cancer.

Good news, everyone!  Basketball is officially back tonight.  With so many teams in title contention, it's anybody's guess how the season will go.  Here's the Opening Night Schedule.

Detroit Pistons at Atlanta Hawks at 8 p.m.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Chicago Bulls at 8 p.m.
New Orleans Pelicans at Golden State Warriors tonight at 10:30 p.m.
There you go making my heart beat again

Sorry to our bettors in the Empire State.  The New York attorney general declared daily fantasy sports to be illegal gambling and sent cease-and-desist notices.

And the controversy carries on.  Two websites filed suits to stop the New York Attorney General from banning daily fantasy sports in the state.

Are we going to witness history tonight?  The Warriors, who are 14-0, look to match the best start in NBA history when the visit the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center in Denver.  The game starts at 8 p.m.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  One step closer to history.  The Warriors matched the best start in NBA history, improving to 15-0 with a 118-105 win over the Nuggets.  The Warriors' Stephen Curry netted 19 points.

They are now in the record books by themselves.  The Warriors, who are 16-0, set the NBA record for the most consecutive wins to begin a season with a 111-77 victory over the Lakers.

The era of ineptitude continues in the City of Brotherly Love.  The 76ers set a record for the longest losing streak in major U.S. professional sports history at 27 games.  This comes as the 76ers lost to the Rockets, 116-114.

The big question is. Will the Warriors lose before the 76ers win one. The Warriors have a tough game in Utah, but they could win another 10 after that

Say what you will about the man as a human being, but as an athlete, he is nothing short of brilliant.  The Lakers' Kobe Bryant, who is 37, announced on a website that he will retire after the season.  Updates to come.

And the Lakers lost to the Pacers, 107-103.
