The puck drops today in Nashville, Tenn., so if you have any stories you want to report, post them here.  And remember, guys:  Be kind to one another.
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder

The ice is all smoothed out and it's time to drop the puck.  Here's the Opening Night schedule.

Montreal Canadiens at Toronto Maple Leafs at 7 p.m.
New York Rangers at Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 8 p.m.
Vancouver Canucks at Calgary Flames tonight at 10 p.m.
San Jose Sharks at Los Angeles Kings tonight at 10:30 p.m.

Minor notes from the Flyers 3-0 win.

The Blackhawks could not break a rather interesting streak: they have not a regular season game in Philadelphia since 1996... they are now 0-12-1.

Michael Neuvirth became only the second goalie in Flyers history to record shutouts in his first two starts of the season

And the game was Claude Giroux's 500th game

So much for making money on sports in the Empire State.  The New York attorney general declared daily fantasy sports to be illegal gambling and sent cease-and-desist notices.

Here we go again.  Two websites filed suits to stop the New York Attorney General from banning daily fantasy sports in the state.

I'm glad I got to meet such a happy and iconic figure and I feel his impact on the area is so great, the flags across the state need to be lowered to half-staff.  Hockey legend Gordie Howe died at 88.  "Mr. Hockey" won four Stanley Cups and had 801 goals in an NHL-record 1,767 games.

First Ali now Gordie (sad sigh). I don't know if we can stand losing many more icons. Makes me worried for some of our older legends like Bob Gibson who's 80 and others of an earlier era of greats. RIP Gordie :'(

The Kid and the Pens are back on top.  The Penguins won their fourth Stanley Cup with a 3-1 victory over the Sharks in Game 6 behind two assists from Sidney Crosby.
